Here’s Your First Look at the ‘iPhone 17 Air’ in CAD Renders

Earlier this year, in January, the first rumors of a “thin” iPhone surfaced, with speculation that it may keep the “iPhone Air” moniker. The reports seemed plausible, too, given how Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman stated it would be “a testing ground for future technologies,” such as the iPhone/iPad Fold.

Apple’s New “Thin” iPhone Could Come in at 5.5mm Thickness With a Single Camera Module on a Raised Bar

Although an official announcement is still far off in the second half of the year, the first CAD renders, based on leaks and insider information, have surfaced online (courtesy of @MajinBuOfficial) in what seems to be the iPhone 17 Air and the iPhone 17 Pro.

We previously reported that iPhones may adopt a lifted camera bar for its next-gen iPhones, which the renders tend to highlight. The iPhone 17 Air, specifically, is expected to come with a single-camera setup, being more of an iPhone 16e successor than the iPhone 16 Plus, which it is said to replace.

From this inference, Apple may call this the iPhone 17e, but it’s too early to make such extrapolations. Meanwhile, leakers such as @UniverseIce have claimed that this new model could be incredibly thin, measuring between 5.5mm and 6mm.

Majin Bu’s renders also showcase a white iPhone 17 Pro, which looks to retain the same triangular camera layout, albeit on a raised camera bar. Early rumors have pointed out that Apple may be eyeing a second screen on the back, similar to the Xiaomi 11 Ultra, but it’s still too early to confirm, and hence, these rumors should be taken with a pinch of salt.

This is all we know for now, but rest assured that we will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
